Location: Akmola Region in Kazakhstan (GPS: 52o20’N 71o53’E)
Established in 1959, Stepnogorsk is located about 200km northeast of Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Project: Part of the gold refining process and all laboratories. Despite vigorous lobbying by Tselinny, main refining rights were granted by the Government to Ust-Kamenogorsk Lead-Zinc Smelter and Balkhash Copper Smelting Complex (Kazakhmys). Tselinny had settled with refining their by-product gold from Uranium mining.
